Through this form of investigation, Cultural Cartographies reveals how artists negotiate understandings of space and place, using technologies of vision, that shape social and natural environments.

60 jaar geleden verscheen De mens en zijn symbolen van Carl Gustav Jung. Het boek vond veel weerklank onder kunstenaars. Jungs visie op de mens en de kunst, het onbewuste en het symbool, vormt de inspiratie voor Uit het paradijs. De expositie toont hedendaagse kunst en verbindt het met historische topstukken uit verschillende museale collecties. Het neemt je mee langs een kronkeling, labyrint-achtig pad, waarbij we je uitnodigen om je eigen ervaring op te bouwen met de thema’s en de kunst. Het voert je van de veilige haven – het paradijs – via strijd en loutering naar de voltooiing en terugkeer van een reis.
