Annual Running To Rachmaninoff Run
The 6th annual running to Rachmaninoff run is going to be something special, it’s also the 7th! We will run from Luhring Augustine in Chelsea to Rachmaninoff’s grave on the last day of 2015, spend the night there and run back the first day of 2016.
Dutch artist Guido van der Werve will guide you on the run. We will leave on the 31th of December around 9 or 10 am from Luhring Augustine in Chelsea. Where van der Werve has the opening of a new exhibition on the 8th of January. We will be holding our usual bouquet of chamomile flowers and jog the 55km/32 miles to Rachmaninoff’s grave in Valhalla New York.
We will spend the night in a hotel nearby the graveyard. The cost will be around 150 $ for a single room or half of that in case you’re ok with sharing. We spend new years eve in Valhalla and drink a decent amount of champagne.
The next day we make the same journey back to Manhattan.
Runners should be in good shape and able to jog the 55km run for two days.
All runners will get a running related item designed by Guido van der Werve in small edition. The groups is limited to 12 runners. Participation is for free, besides the hotel costs. We will provide drinks and gels. In case you have to drop out, there’s a car driving along.
More information about Guido van der Werve can be found at guidovanderwerve.com. In case you want to join send an email to Wim van der Meer at email@example.com. In case you didn’t run with us yet, please send a running resume, so we can judge your shape.
